Tasting Notes

In the glass, it shows a dark ruby red colour, with reflections that tend towards dark purple. The nose is extremely expressive, characterized by hints of ripe plums and dried figs, which then evolve towards hints of subtle sweet spices and elegant aromas of clover. The sip is very concentrated, thanks to a well-built tannic texture and a persistent finish.

Valle de Colchagua "Clos Apalta" 2019 - Clos Apalta: Why we like it

A perfect harvest to say the least leads to a vivid red wine; it’s fruity and characterized by deep and persistent flavours. This is how this Chilean Clos Apalta presents itself, born from the amazing Lapostolle family, committed for several generations to the production of quality wines within the DO Apalta. The grapes of carmenΓ¨re, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot, once harvested, are fermented at a temperature below 28 degrees, in French oak vats of 75 hectolitres and in new French oak barrels. They then proceed with the ageing in oak barrels, and with the bottling, which takes place without filtration. A label of depth and quality, perfect for introducing to the great reds made in Chile.
