Tasting Notes

Bright ruby red in colour, with a beautifully defined bouquet of rare finesse. Notes of small red fruits that alternate with balsamic, floral, spicy and vegetable notes, open up to a unique palate, capable of perfectly combining all the freshness of the typology with a depth that shouldn't be taken for granted. Very long and vibrant, it closes with a very persistent finish.

Pairing

Served throughout a meal, Rosso di Montalcino is at its best with rich beef dishes, particularly char-grills.

Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2020 - Biondi Santi: Why we like it

When faced with Biondi Santi's Rosso di Montalcino, it is possible to state, without fear of contradiction, that it is the absolute champion of the appellation. A baby Brunello, the peculiarity of which is that it comes from the youngest vineyards of Tenuta Greppo, which are between five and ten years old, and ages for a shorter period of time than its older brother: about 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. The result is a red wine characterised by unique elegance and drinkability, a splendidly defined and fresh wine, ideal companion at the table on the most special occasions.
