Domaine Perrot-Minot

Antonio Galloni, one of the most famous wine critics in the world, previously Robert Parker's right-hand man, has defined the Domaine Perrot-Minot as one of the most “exciting” estates in all of Burgundy: richness, finesse, style, and elegance mixed together. The history of this Domaine, located in Morey-Saint-Denis, begins in the mid-19th century, when Amédée Merme married Esther Morizot. After successfully serving in the army, he decided to take care of his wife's properties, thanks also to the help of their son Armand, who immediately proved to be an excellent "vigneron". With Armand the estate increased its size, and underwent a significant modernization work, both for what concerned the vineyard and the operations in the cellar. In the following decades, the reins of the property were passed down to Marie France, Armand's eldest daughter, and her husband Henry Perrot-Minot, hence the current name Domaine Perrot-Minot. Today it’s Christophe, son of Marie France and Herny, who manages the Domaine on a daily basis, since, in 1993, he decided to interrupt his career as a wine broker to focus on the family business. The vineyards grow in some of the most precious parcels in all of Burgundy, through Grand Crus such as Chambertin and Clos de Veugot, Premier Crus such as Chambolle-Musigny, and Villages among which Vosne-Romanée. For many years now, the vineyard has been conducted observing integrated viticulture practices, without using any chemical fertilizer or herbicide and making sure to keep the subsoil of each individual terroir in balance. The low yields sought by Domaine Perrot-Minot mean that the vines, some even more than a hundred years old, give life to concentrated and highly expressive bunches, which, once transformed into wine, seduce from the first sips.
