Tasting Notes

This deep purple-red wine boasts notes of prune, tobacco, anise seed with a slight sea-like undertone. In the mouth it boasts a typical flavour profile that is rich with significant bite, characterised by smooth tannins and a well-balanced freshness.

Pairing

This full-bodied, well-structured red wine pairs very well with meat or mushroom-based pasta and rice dishes, as well as grilled or roasted red meats. We suggest you try it with roasted pork seasoned with juniper berry and rosemary.

Puglia Negroamaro Rosso IGT “Posta Piana” 2014 - Cantine Paradiso: Why we like it

Cantine Paradiso’s “Posta Piana” Puglia Primitivo Rosso IGT is produced from Nero di Troia and Primitivo grapes that are harvested from vines located in Cerignola, in the province of Foggia that yield approximately 7000 to 8000 kilos per hectare. In the cellar, the grapes are left to macerate in temperature-controlled steel vats for 15 to 20 days. They are they twice-pressed and left to rest in steel tanks for two months before being aged in French oak barriques for an additional year. The wine is left to rest once bottled for another 4 months before being put on the market. Posta Piana is a wine that is fresh yet intense, all at once.
