CAMPANIA RED WINES

Campania's wine heritage: land of volcanoes and ancient vines

Campania boasts a thousand-year-old wine-making tradition that has its roots in Greek and Etruscan civilizations. The volcanic soils of Vesuvius and Campi Flegrei, rich in minerals and ash, together with the complex regional orography, create a mosaic of microclimates that is unique in Italy. This geological heritage is magnificently expressed in Campania's red wines, which have extraordinary personality and longevity and tell the story of a land where viticulture has been an integral part of the local culture for centuries.

Aglianico: the prince of Campania's grape varieties

Aglianico finds its most noble expression in Campania, and particularly in Irpinia, in wines that express an imposing structure, a refined tannic texture and complex notes of dark fruits, spices, tobacco and licorice, with that characteristic minerality conferred by volcanic soils.

A mosaic of native varieties: Campania's wine treasure

In addition to Aglianico, our collection showcases other gems of Campania's ampelographic heritage. From Piedirosso (or Per' e Palummo) from the Campi Flegrei and the Amalfi Coast, the star of Marisa Cuomo and Cenatiempo wines, to the interpretations of Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio from Villa Dora and Mastroberardino. There is no shortage of rarities such as Pallagrello Nero and Casavecchia del Casertano or Barbera del Sannio di Monserrato 1973. Each bottle represents not only the expression of a unique terroir, but also the result of a passionate effort to recover and promote varieties that combine a strong territorial identity, structural complexity, and surprising value for money.
