The Burgundy system classifies wines into four levels of increasing excellence: from Regional to Village appellations, up to Premier Cru and the legendary Grand Cru. From Chablis in the north to Mâconnais in the south, passing through the Côte de Nuits (the kingdom of the greatest Pinot Noirs), the Côte de Beaune (home of the finest Chardonnays) and the Côte Chalonnaise, each territory expresses an unmistakable identity that is revealed in wines of extraordinary finesse and elegance.
