Lugana

Lake Garda's Liquid Treasure
At the southern shores of Italy's largest lake lies a wine that captures the essence of its stunning location. Lugana, crafted from the indigenous Turbiana grape (locally known as Trebbiano di Lugana), represents one of Italy's most refined white wine expressions.

Historical Legacy
While the region's winemaking history dates back to Roman times, Lugana's modern renaissance began in 1967 with its DOC recognition. The unique microclimate created by Lake Garda and the area's mineral-rich clay soils has made this small denomination one of Italy's most respected white wine regions.

Distinguished Appellations
The Lugana DOC spans across the provinces of Brescia and Verona, with five distinct styles: the classic Lugana, Superiore, Riserva, Late Harvest, and Spumante. The finest expressions come from the clay-rich soils near Sirmione, where the Turbiana grape achieves perfect ripeness while maintaining crucial acidity.

Tasting Profile
Expect an enchanting bouquet of white flowers, particularly jasmine and chamomile, followed by crisp citrus notes and delicate hints of white peach. The palate reveals a distinctive combination of body and freshness, with remarkable mineral notes and a characteristic almond finish that's uniquely Lugana.

Perfect Pairings
These wines shine alongside freshwater fish from Lake Garda, complement British seafood dishes like Dover sole, or pair beautifully with Asian cuisine. Their structure also works wonderfully with light poultry dishes and fresh summer salads.
