Tasting Notes

In the glass it shows a straw-yellow color tending towards green. The aromas on the nose are fresh and lively, with notes of acacia, broom and white flowers that take over; then medicinal herbs and more mineral nuances. In the mouth it’s lively, drinks well, it’s very smooth, and characterized by a dry and savory flavor. Finishes on a slight almond aftertaste.

Pairings

It has a great gastronomic vocation, which allows it to be perfect throughout the meal, from light appetizers to first and second courses. Try it with spaghetti with mussels and clams.

Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore DOC "Luzano" 2024 - Marotti Campi: Why we like it

One of the most important and precious appellations of the whole Marche region, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC, finds vivid expression in this product of the Marotti Campi estate: a truly versatile Classico Superiore, which, thanks to its straightforward structure, is perfect as a wine to drink everyday. The grapes ferment in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 15 °C, where they then continue to rest on fine lees for about five months. The "Luzano" always plays the leading role, both in informal aperitifs and in light-hearted lunches and dinners.

The wine treasure of Morro d'Alba

Marotti Campi is one of the most interesting wineries in the Marche region, capable of bringing out the best in the region's native grape varieties. Founded in 1999 but with roots dating back to the mid-19th century, this family-run winery located in Morro d'Alba, a small medieval village in the Castelli di Jesi area, has established itself as an ambassador of excellence for the Marche region's wine heritage. On his 53 hectares, Giovanni Marotti Campi, together with his wife Francesca and son Lorenzo, mainly grows Verdicchio and Lacrima, interpreting them with a style that combines respect for tradition and a contemporary approach, always with the utmost respect for the surrounding environment.

The elegance of Verdicchio and the character of Lacrima

Our range reflects the dual soul of Marotti Campi. On the one hand, there is the collection of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, the winery's flagship wine, which has been awarded 5 Grappoli by Bibenda. On the other hand, there are the interpretations of Lacrima di Morro d'Alba, a native grape variety with great personality: from the fresh and immediate “Rubico” to the complex and structured “Orgiolo” Superiore, also available in Magnum. The range is completed by the distinctive late harvest Verdicchio “Volo d'Autunno” and interesting rosés such as “Regina d'Inverno”, a blend of Montepulciano and Petit Verdot.

Formats for every occasion and prestigious awards

Our selection includes not only standard bottles but also elegant Magnums in cases and refined wooden box packaging, perfect for a classy gift or for collectors. The numerous awards obtained over the years from the leading Italian guides testify to the undisputed quality of this winery which, while remaining small in size (around 220,000 bottles per year), continues to stand out for its ability to interpret the traditional grape varieties of the Marche region with authenticity and finesse, creating wines of great personality and refinement.-
