Tasting Notes

This intensely straw-coloured subtly yet persistently effervescent bubbly boasts a soft yet bold and persistent aromatic profile that features notes of ripe fruit and hints of crusty bread, hazelnut and a bouquet of assorted flowers. Smooth, elegant and well-balanced, this bubbly has great character and boasts intensely fruity and yeasty notes typical of a Chardonnay.

Pairings

A great bubbly to accompany an entire meal, Ferrari suggests that Maximum be paired with a fine mozzarella di bufala cheese or with a classic Italian-style octopus salad.

Trento DOC "Maximum" Blanc de Blancs - Ferrari (0.375l): Why we like it

Ferrari’s “Maximum” Trento DOC is a very high quality Italian spumante with a certain smoothness and delicateness to it that is produced from a careful selection of Chardonnay grapes that are then left to age on lees for approximately 36 months before one final period of aging once bottled. This bubbly is produced in the most classic of fashions and makes for an ideal introduction into the world of grace and elegance that is the Ferrari style. This spumante is ideal for any occasion, from a refined Italian-style aperitivo to a nice dinner with friends.

Brand

Giulio Ferrari: the father of great Trentino sparkling wines

A winery that needs no introduction, whose legend was born thanks to the intuition of one man, Giulio Ferrari, and his dream of creating a wine in Trentino that could compete with the best French Champagnes.

A true pioneer, Giulio Ferrari was the first to recognize the extraordinary potential of his land and the first to introduce Chardonnay to Italy. He began producing a few select bottles with an obsessive focus on quality.

These wines immediately won the hearts of the most demanding enthusiasts, who had never before found such elegant, refined, and surprising sparkling wines in Italy. However, having no children, Giulio Ferrari sought a successor to whom he could entrust his dream.

The successor: Bruno Lunelli and the definitive affirmation

Among the many contenders, he chose Bruno Lunelli, owner of a famous wine shop in Trento. Thanks to his passion and entrepreneurial talent, Bruno managed in a very short time—in the first half of the 1950s—to increase production without ever compromising on quality, following the same path traced by the founder.

The tradition continued, and Bruno Lunelli passed on his passion to his children: under the guidance of Franco, Gino, and Mauro, Ferrari became the leader in Italy and synonymous with the Italian toast par excellence.

During these years, some of the labels destined to go down in history were created: Ferrari Rosé, Ferrari Brut Perlé, and Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore.

The present: the Italian benchmark for the classic method

Today, more than a hundred years later, Ferrari is synonymous with the best Italian sparkling wines. With a vineyard area of around 120 hectares, production reaches almost four and a half million bottles per year: unique wines, true hymns to the greatness of an unrivalled winery and a territory - that of Trento - which has proven itself capable of offering some of the best sparkling wines in the world (all available in Tannico's extensive online wine shop catalog) .
