Brand
Antiche Cantine Migliaccio winery has been a staple of viticulture on the island of Ponza since 1734, when the Neapolitan king Charles of Bourbon entrusted Pietro Migliaccio with the task of planting Biancolella, Forastera, Guarnaccia, Aglianico and Piedirosso vines in one of the most inaccessible and unspoilt plots of land on the island: Punta Fieno.
It is precisely this inaccessibility, which can only be reached by swimming or after a 40-minute trek, that has discouraged local winegrowers over the years, and it was only in 2000 that the vineyards of Punta Fieno were restored to their former glory thanks to the intervention of Emanuele Vittorio, a descendant of the Migliaccio family.
The winery uses modern techniques in the cellar for pressing and ageing, while for everything else it has chosen to remain faithful to traditions that favour a natural approach, without chemical additives, and manual processing. Emanuele's heroic efforts, combined with the climatic conditions, create the ideal conditions for the production of unique, warm, mineral and intense wines with a strongly Mediterranean spirit.
