Greco

Heritage and Origins

Deep in the heart of Campania, the ancient Greco grape thrives in volcanic soils, creating wines that speak of history and tradition. From its Greek origins to its modern renaissance, this noble variety has become emblematic of Southern Italian white wine excellence.

The Tufo Connection

The steep hillsides around Tufo offer the perfect environment for Greco to express its full potential. Here, morning mists from the mountains meet intense Mediterranean sunshine, while volcanic soils provide the distinctive mineral backbone that makes these wines so remarkable.

Character in the Glass

Greco unfolds with elegant layers of aroma and flavour. Fresh citrus notes mingle with Mediterranean bergamot, while subtle touches of wild herbs and almonds add complexity. The volcanic terroir shows through in a distinctive mineral streak that energises the palate.

Texture and Structure

What sets Greco apart is its compelling combination of freshness and weight. The wine shows remarkable depth without heaviness, offering a silky texture balanced by vibrant acidity. This structure allows it to pair beautifully with food while ensuring excellent aging potential.

At the Table

Greco shines particularly bright alongside southern Italian cuisine. It makes a natural partner for fresh seafood and buffalo mozzarella, while its structure allows it to complement more substantial dishes. The wine's mineral character works wonderfully with grilled Mediterranean fish and light pasta dishes.

Serving Suggestions

For optimal enjoyment, serve at 12°C to allow the full spectrum of aromas to develop. While most expressions show beautifully in their youth, the finest examples can develop additional complexity over 4-5 years.
