FATTORIA NANNÌ

Where I come from, there is a mountain that protects the valley and the castles around it. It's nice to have a small peak in the distance, jagged on one side, like a crooked turtle shell, which acts as a beacon when you don't have the sea. It's called Monte San Vicino and it overlooks a large vineyard, protecting it in the countryside of Apiro. This vineyard is home to the young “Fattoria Nannì” winery, painted entirely by Nina, a green balcony overlooking a rock-shaped lighthouse that has told us since we were children what the weather will be like, what colour the sky will be, everything that can be seen and unseen, and where to find the moon': these are the words of Roberto Cantori himself. These almost poetic words take us by the hand and invite us to discover the ‘Fattoria Nannì’ farm.

We are in Apiro, in the Arsicci district, in the province of Macerata, in the Marche region. This is where the approximately 19 hectares of the ‘Fattoria Nannì’ are located, three of which are planted with old Verdicchio vines. On purely calcareous soils, at an altitude of about 500 metres above sea level and enjoying a microclimate characterised by significant temperature variations, which are essential for developing the aromatic qualities of the grapes, healthy, pure bunches are harvested each season, concentrated in every organoleptic nuance.

In the cellar, the approach is based on micro-vinification, with separate batches that are eventually blended after being processed according to a philosophy that allows for minimal artificial intervention.

This is how “Origini”, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore, takes shape, a label accompanied by “Nena e Vincè”, Vino e Visciole, which represents the oldest tradition in the Marche region. The wines produced by Roberto Cantori speak of truth and reality, using a direct and straightforward language that is immediate and never predictable, the result of the highest regional oenology and more. These are wines not to be missed.
