Les Crêtes

When you talk of Aosta Valley wines, it’s impossible not to mention the extraordinary and incessant work carried out in recent years by Costantino Charrère de Les Crêtes. It’s in fact thanks to him that the world became suddenly aware of all the delicate finesse of the wines from this small patch of land. Founded in 1989, Les Crêtes is home to all the most traditional varieties of the area: like petit rouge, fumin, petite arvine and chardonnay. This winery in the vineyard has always shown great attention to the territory with continuous experiments with organic and, more recently, biodynamic practices. At the same time, though, it always had a very broad vision of the market, thus managing to make known the peculiarities of the Aosta Valley throughout the Peninsula. Year after year it gives us pure, elegant and pleasant wines. In the over 20 hectares of vineyards, spreaded in the territories of six different Aosta Valley municipalities, the pursued philosophy is that of a low environmental impact, for which the use of synthetic products is reduced to the bare minimum, and the operations are performed almost exclusively manually. In the cellar it’s the same; so that the use of chemicals is very limited, and each production step aims to enhance what nature has created by honing every little intrinsic nuance of the fruit. The result of all this is very simple: all the wines labeled Les Crêtes clearly express what is the deepest essence of the mountains of the Aosta Valley. Whites and reds of extraordinary tension, freshness, and intensity: from "Cuvée Bois" to "Les Abeilles", passing through all the others, each delicious, each extraordinary.
