San Felice

The San Felice winery stands on a village located in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, not far from the city of Siena. The building itself has ancient origins, and has gradually been built around the Pieve di San Felice in Pincis, dating back to 714 AD. Today the property, owned by the Allianz S.p.A. group, is a high-end winery, and in addition to the production of wines and olive oil, it can also boast a fantastic hotel, which has recently become part of the Relais & Chateaux chain. The estate covers an immense area of 650 hectares, 140 of which are devoted to winegrowing, located partly in the center of the Chianti Classico production area and partly in the Brunello di Montalcino area, interspersed with land dedicated to production of oil, obtained from over 17,000 olive trees. The terroir, thanks to the perfect combination of altitude and a microclimate characterized by significant temperature variations, allows the best cultivation of grapes, such as Sangiovese, Colorino, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pugnitello, Petit Verdot, Trebbiano and Chardonnay. Furthermore, in the vineyards, since the 1990s, a precise study of the territory has been carried out in order to identify those specific macro-areas - crus, if you will - in which each grape is able to express itself at its best. San Felice is an innovative company, which also proposes itself as a bulwark of protection for the Chianti landscape, operating with sustainable practices that seek the lowest possible environmental impact and the protection of biodiversity. Each year they produce bottles that represent only the best of Tuscany, in a range of different labels, perfect to meet the needs of every enthusiast. A special credit goes to "Il Grigio" and "Poggio Rosso", both different expressions of the new legislative typology introduced at the top of all the production of Chianti Classico, or the "Gran Selezione".
