Poderi Luigi Einaudi

The story of Poderi Luigi Einaudi began in 1897, when Luigi Einaudi, only twenty-three at the time, bought the “San Giacomo” farmhouse not far from the town of Dogliani. At the same time while devoting himself to his academic and political path, it seems that even as President of the Republic Luigi Einaudi he didn’t miss a single harvest, managing to create a model company for the Langhe region, in Piedmont: 100 hectares, 20 of which planted with vines, built basically from scratch. The reins were passed down to one of his sons, Roberto, who continued his father’s work over the years. From him to his daughter, Paola, who invested time, energy and money in bringing the quality of their wines to international standards. Today the management has been handed down to her son, Matteo Sardagna. Currently, the vineyard area has reached more than 50 hectares, for a conventional agronomic management entrusted to the direction of Giampiero Romana. In the cellar, under the oenological signature of Lorenzo Raimondi, labels are produced based on a firm belief: a great wine can only be born from a great vineyard and a great terroir. This is why both in the vinification and during the aging phase, numerous attentions and scrupulous monitoring of each production step are aimed at pursuing a primary objective: to enhance what nature has created through the work of man. You'll find the Dolcetto “Vigna Tecc”, the Barolo “Cannubi” and the Barolo “Vigna Costa Grimaldi”, followed by the Barbaresco, the Barbera, the Nebbiolo, the Pinot Grigio and all the others. Poderi Luigi Einaudi’s reds, whites and rosés, are rightfully to be included among some of the best Italian wines. The winery has been capable not only of capturing the territory of Dogliani, namely with the typical Dolcetto, but also of summing up all the Langhe’s oenological excellence, thanks to the number of plots in the most prestigious crus belonging to the denominations of Barolo and Barbaresco. A high-class production, able to combine tradition and modernity like few others.
