Marinferno

The Mariferno project was initiated in 2016 to give a new sense of direction to a historic farm in Vicobarone, in Val Tidone, in the heart of the hills of Piacenza. The company has always been owned by the Sforza Fogliani family, who have been in these lands since 1500.
Marinferno is an anagram of “Monferrina”, the historic name of the farm and the initial catalyst of this project.

Landscape, creativity and hospitality are at the heart of this project, which come together in an idea of sustainable agriculture and tourism.
They grow aromatic Candia Malvasia, Ortrugo, Barbera, Bonarda and Pinot Nero.
Marinferno produce organic, “naturally dishevelled” wines and they are members of the FIVI, the Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers.
