Elena Walch

Alto Adige represents one of the most prestigious wine-growing areas, and not only in Italy. And when it comes to its production, you can’t possibly forgo tasting one of the wineries that most represents the excellence of the whole territory: Elena Walch. The two magnificent estates, the first on the shores of Lake Caldaro and the second in the heart of the small town of Termeno, both just South of Bolzano, are an absolute reference point for all experienced and savvy enthusiasts. Elena Walch wines are, in fact, impeccable examples of that harmony that can be found between the terroir, the most typical vines of the area, and the know-how. Castel Ringberg, Kastelaz and Minori: divided into three distinct vineyards, the company currently has over 30 hectares of vineyards in total, for an annual production of 500,000 bottles on average. The vines are treated with thorough care, almost like they were children, and are grown in full respect of the environment and ecosystem. In the cellar, each production step is aimed at enhancing the varietal characteristics of the fruit and the mineral nuances released to the grapes from the soil. This is how from 1988 - the year the company was founded - until today, from Lagrein, Pinot Nero, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay, Merlot and Sauvignon and all the wines signed by “Elena Walch” have achieved international fame and prestige. All this was possible thanks to a rare sensitivity: the great winemaking tradition that is handed down in the most absolute respect for the vine, the scrupulous attention in the cellar and the support of cutting-edge techniques, capable of enhancing the work of man. The result is delivered with wonderful wines, which stand out for their cleanliness, elegance and international character.
