Due Palme

Founded in 1989 in Cellino San Marco, near Brindisi, Due Palme winery quickly established itself as one of the most interesting cooperatives not only in Apulia but in the entire Italian peninsula. The merit is above all of its volcanic chairman, Angelo Maci who, thanks also to collaborators of great value, has managed over time to express wines of extraordinary finesse and expressiveness, true ambassadors of Salento and Puglia in the world. It’s no coincidence: from the 90s to today, in fact, the company has made huge investments towards growth, development, technologies and sustainable production.
From the protection of the historic sapling vineyards to a particular attention to eco-sustainable agriculture, there is no aspect that is not followed with an obsessive attention to quality. The primitivo, the negroamaro, the malvasia nera and the rare susumaniello are just some of the varieties that at Due Palme have undergone constant enhancement, today including almost 2,500 hectares of vineyards, for over a 1000 members.
Each contributor grows their own vines in full respect of the environment and ecosystem, producing grapes of superior quality. After the harvest, the bunches are processed in the appropriate vinification rooms, where five grape discharges, four vacuum presses, five crushers and two refrigeration units meet. Then aging and refinement, also carried out in specially designed rooms, with a large barrel cellar that can cover 100 thousand hectoliters of wine, covering an area of 1000 square meters. Finally, the new bottling plant, inaugurated in 2013 and capable of filling 11 thousand bottles per hour.
Mind-boggling numbers, in essence, constantly combined, however, with the highest quality levels, from the “Selvarossa” to the “Canonico”, passing through all the others, for some of the best Apulian wines.
