Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona

Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona estate, in Montalcino, boasts a long history that dates back to the 17th century. The company, now owned by Paolo and Lucia Bianchini, owns over 50 hectares of vineyards, which are located near the Orcia river, excellently exposed to the south-west, at an altitude of 240 to 360 meters above sea level. The great attention paid to wine growing is the result of ancient tradition combined with increasingly updated and avant-garde agronomic methods and techniques. In the vineyard, Sangiovese Grosso is obviously the dominant one, a specific biotype of Sangiovese exclusive to Montalcino, which, especially for, Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona estate grows on soils highly suited to viticulture, and is raised in full respect of the environment and ecosystem. Bunches that in the cellar are transformed into equally excellent wines. To keep up with the continuous evolutions of the wine sector, Tenuta Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona currently has three distinct cellars: one used for the aging of the finest wines, then a second which represents the official headquarters of the company - where the vinification is carried out and where the administrative premises and the shop for sale and tasting are housed - and finally a last one recently acquired, where the new appellation "Montecucco Sangiovese" is produced. The result of all this is shown in very recognizable wines, characterized by an elegant and refined style. The Rosso di Montalcino, the Brunello, the "Fabivs" and the "Ateo" up to the spirits: Tenuta Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona wines are modern and, at the same time, capable to preserve intact what is the deepest charm of the authenticity of an area which, for decades, has held up the prestige of all Italian winemaking and viticulture.
